Goosechase, Friday, May 19
Attendees at the 129th CLLA National Convention had an exciting time as they embarked on a Goose Chase! League members teamed up to complete a series of fun “missions” to rack up points in pursuit of a gold medal. It was fun watching attendees taking selfies with other attendees, recreating famous album covers and even performing air guitar!! This was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other a little better and make some new connections.
Prohibition Tour, Friday, May 19
At the conclusion of the 129th National Convention, CLLA members embarked on an afternoon tour of several local Speakeasies. With an excellent knowledge of the prohibition era, Jonathan Knotek, founder of Chicago Prohibition Tours, kept the group enthralled and entertained with stories about the many factors and “cast of characters” that led to prohibition and how it was ultimately ratified to the constitution as the 18th amendment. The group learned about secret rooms, famous bootleggers and a bit about “The Outfit” and Al Capone.
